  1. - T introduces the rules of the game: T divides class into 4 groups and named : G1,G2, G3, G4. Each member of one group goes to the blackboard and wite the name of the food or drink in the video and then pass the chalk to the other ss in his/her group if they can’t continue and so on. The group has the most right words will be the winner and will receive a gift. 2. New leson 2.1. Vocabulary teaching * Objective: - To help students use key language more appropriately * Content: some vocabulary * Output: Complete the task * Process: - Teacher asks ss to look at the pictures and elicits ss to give the English words and then their Vietnamese meaning. - Teacher shows and says the words aloud and asks Ss to repeat them. 1. meal /mɪəl/: bữa ăn 2. breakfast /ˈbrekfəst/: bữa sáng 3. lunch /lʌntʃ/: bữa trưa 4. dinner /ˈdɪnər/: bữa tối 5. fabulous /ˈfæbjələs/: tuyệt vời 6. healthy /ˈhelθi/: khoẻ mạnh - T asks ss to write down in their notebooks and learn by heart at home. 2.2. Listening: - T sets the scene by asking ss some questions : 1. What time do you have breakfast, lunch, dinner? 2. What do you often have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? - SS’ answers. - T asks ss : What about the people in your area? Do they have meals at the same time as you? And do they have the same food or drink as you have? Let’ us discuss. T leads ss to activity 1. Activity 1: Discuss the following questions. (Ex 1, p. 57) * Objective: To help Ss understand and activate their knowledge of the topic. * Content: Chatting about food/ drink * Output: Complete the task * Process: - Teacher asks Ss to work in groups of 4 or 5 discussing questions about the eating habits of the people in their area. 1. What time do people in your area often have breakfast, lunch, and dinner? 2. What do they often have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? - Ss actively discuss and note down all members' answers. - Ss share their groups' answers as the whole class.
  2. rice, fish, meat, and vegetables. Dinner is the main meal of the day. It’s also the time when family members gather at home, so it takes a bit longer than the other meals. It often starts at around 7:30 p.m. We usually have rice with a lot of fresh vegetables and seafood or meat. We normally talk about everyday activities during the meal. Then we have some fruit and green tea. I think the food in my area is fabulous. It’s very healthy and delicious. 2.3 Writing Activity 4: Make notes about the eating habits in your area. (Ex 4, p.57) * Objective: To help Ss prepare ideas for their writing. * Content: Make notes about eating habbits * Output: Complete the task * Process: - Teacher asks Ss to work in groups of 5 or 6 to make notes, brainstorm or cluster ideas to write about the eating habits in their area, using the following questions. (Ss can use the language in the listening exercise.) Questions for answering : 1. How many meals do you eat daily? 2. What do you have for breakfast, lunch and dinner? 3. What time do you have breakfast, lunch and dinner? 4. Do you eat anything before the main meals? 5. How many servings of fruits and vegetables do you have per day? - Ss do not have to write full sentences and they can use abbreviations. Time Food and drink Breakfast Luch Dinner - T may ask some strong students to read out the notes to the whole class. Activity 5: Write a paragraph of 70 words about the eating habits in your area . (Ex 5, p.57) * Objective: To help Ss practise writing a paragraph about the eating habits in their area. * Content: Write a paragraph about eating habits * Output: Complete the task * Process: - T asks ss to work in groups of 4 or 5 ss to complete the task. - Teacher suggests Ss think and write, using the notes they have done in Exercise 4. - T suggests ss to answer the following question before writing: - Ss work in groups to write the first draft and listen to their classmates' and Teacher's feedbacks and comments, and then write the final writing. - Then, they share their writings with the others, using marking criteria to give each other peer-feedbacks.
